1 Poetry, essays and fiction are accepted, though poetry is favored. The Editor admits to a bias toward free verse, but will read any thoughtful submission. The mission statement may be helpful to some. Submissions are accepted by email only.

2 Prepare using an HTML editor if you know how. Otherwise, send as an Word, Wordpad or OpenOffice style RTF (rich text). XML is also acceptable.

3 If accepted, fax a signed nonexclusive release of your online rights to the poem.

4 Work incorporating hyperlinks, either within the work, or to external sites, is encouraged. When linking to external sites, try for URLs that are relatively stable. If your work is accepted, you're responsible for notifying us that external URLs need to be updated. Please note that some organizations request that you obtain permission to link to them, e.g., WebMD.

5 Ideally, the manuscript width should be within 550 px in order to preserve your line breaks.

6 Suggestions for background art are happily accepted, but final layout and art decisions are at the discretion of the Editor. Poetry and Science respects copyrights of artists and publishers. For those who may not be aware, it may be very difficult to obtain web publication rights for many well known works. When in doubt, create it yourself or find an underpublished partner.

7 The subject(s) you may choose to write about may be poorly understood by some readers. In addition to possible hyperlinks, you can write an annotation or footnote. Footnotes should be as concise as possible, written in third person, neutral prose.

8 Submissions are accepted year round. There is no schedule for notifications, though 60 days is a reasonable expectation.

9 If your work is published in print subsequent to its appearance in Poetry and Science, please notify the Editor so that credits can be inserted.

10 While not obligatory, a brief bio is requested. Write what you think would interest other readers of this ezine, but please keep it factual.

11 Provide your name, address, a phone number and at least one stable email addresses. You can reach the editor of Poetry and Science:
